Are You In Need For Transsexualism Surgery?!!!!

There are men and there are women. There are men who want to become women and women who want to become men.

Transsexualism is a condition in which a person identifies with a physical sex different from the one that they were born with or assigned in cases where ambiguity of the child’s sex organs led to assigning them a physical sex. Transsexualism is considered a taboo subject in many parts of the world and has become more widely known in Western nations in the late 20th century due to the sexual revolution, but remains a highly controversial topic.

This group of individuals was born into one gender but identifies emotionally and psychologically with the other. The medical term often used to describe this situation is “gender dysphoria.” The complexities of this state are numerous, and people in different stages of their “coming out as a transsexual” process may refer to themselves in very different ways. Male transsexuals may choose to use hormones, have surgery, or do neither in order to live as women. The point is, these are people who feel that they were born in the wrong body and will often do anything they can to remedy it.

Transsexualism can be defined as an incongruence between the biological sex and gender-identity and it is the most extreme form of gender dysphoria.

In-order to label a person as a transsexual the following criteria need to be satisfied :

1. The person must experience a sense of discomfort and inappropriateness about his/ her anatomic sex.
2. The person must have a desire to be rid of his/her own genitals and to live as a member of the opposite sex.
3. The disturbance needs to have been continuous for at least 2 years and not limited only to periods of stress.
4. There must not be any genetic abnormality or congenital sex hormone disorders.
5. There should be an absence of coexistent mental disorder such as schizophrenia.

Sex change surgery refers to the administration of surgery to change the sex appearance according to one’s sex identity. There are two kinds of surgery.

1-Genital surgical sex reassignment: surgery of the genitalia and/or breasts performed for the purpose of altering the morphology in order to approximate the physical appearance of the genetically other sex.

2-Non genital surgical sex reassignment: any and all other surgical procedures of non-genitalia or non-breast, conducted for the purpose of effecting a more masculine appearance in a genetic female or for the purpose of effecting more feminine appearance in a genetic male.

The time that people start feeling of belonging to the opposite sex is 2-3 years of age. According to the outcome of many researches, early treatment would prevent unnecessary sufferings. Physical outcome of an early treatment can be expected to be more satisfactory by comparison with starting later, especially MFs (male to female). This is an enormous and lifelong advantage instead of having to live with a deep voice and other scar.

At the end of it all, science is still not able to clearly explain the exact etiology of transsexualism. Transsexualism is definitely not a mere whim on the part of the affected person. Though ill-understood, it seems to be the end result of a combination of abnormal neuroanatomy superimposed on which are psychological, environmental & probably hormonal factors.
