How To Make 2008 Your Best Year Ever!

Another year is about to close it’s doors, and a new year will open before us. For most, this past year was undoubtedly filled with many challenges. No matter how you faced these obstacles, whether you succeeded or failed in overcoming them, they also came with the wisdom of valuable life lessons. Each obstacle came with it’s own unique gift. Each darkness also held within it Light.
The new year is absolutely the perfect time to make major life changes. Each New Year brings New Life. New Years Resolutions are a great first step to designing a better future. It is exciting and empowering to begin January 1st with a blank canvas, a clean slate.

As we end the year, it seems particularly fitting to devote some time to reflecting on the year past and where we find ourselves as the new beginning is upon us. We revisit the past to gain some insight into the future. The following questions can stimulate your thinking for this process.

1. Did I expand love within myself, and those around me?

2. Did I bring more peace into myself, and into the world?

3. Did I motivate myself with excitement and love, creating a joyful process on the way to fulfilling my dreams?

4. What were my successes and achievements?

5. How have I grown this year (wiser, more loving, more compassionate)?

6. Did I connect deeply with the creative spirit of life?

7. Did I express my gifts and talents?

8. What did I learn (skills, knowledge, awareness, etc.)

9. What would I have done differently? Why?

10. What still feels incomplete to me?

11. What am I resisting doing?

12. What character traits do I desire to cultivate in the coming year?

After finishing these questions and having a complete answer about what have you already done this year, you have to look forward for the coming year and know well that this is the time of year that we look back at where we’ve been and look ahead at where we want to be. We set some New Years Resolutions, well intentioned, with the hopes of creating positive changes in our lives. Your job in this life is to follow your bliss, design your destiny and consciously direct the steering wheel of your destiny.
“If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they might have planned for you? Not much.” -Jim Rohn

Being proactive enables you to sleep peacefully at night and awaken each day knowing that you are actively heading in the direction you want to go, developing your greatness and living your dreams. Having a system for manifesting your goals over and over builds confidence and demolishes fear.

You must have a burning desire for something, originating beyond mere hopes and ideas. You must have compelling dreams, a thirst, a hunger and desires that are so inspiring and motivating, they provide you with enough internal drive to fuel you and keep you going when things don’t go as planned. The stronger your WHY, the more successful you will be.

January 1 marks the end of a period of remembrance of a particular passing year, and ushers in new promises, new hopes and many New Year’s resolutions. Take your Resolutions, Transition them into Goals, get started Today by beginning the New Year with New Life and Make 2008 Your Best Year Ever!
