On Thursday, Sultan Kosen was pronounced to be the tallest man in the world ,after the Ukrainian Leonid Stadnyk was deprived from the title. The Ukrainian Leonid Stadnyk, 8 feet 5.5 inches (2.57 meters) refused to be measured. He told the Associated Press that he prefers calmness rather than fame.
He wants to live his life without the public attention. He thinks that to live in calm is good for his health. However, Kosen sees his case with another view. He think that his fame could give him family. He have never had a girlfriend. He thinks that fame could help him to find a girl and marry her. According to Guinness World Records, Kosen’s tall is 8 foot 1 inch (2.47 meter) .
From one to ten people who grow past the eight foot. The Guinness records explains that the condition of Kosen as a result of pituitary gigantism. Kosen suffered from tumor which affected his pituitary. This tumor made him produce over hormones. But last year he removed this tumor. So he will not grow more taller. Kosen comes from the town of Mardin in eastern Turkey .
He explains that his tall has advantages and disadvantages. The disadvantages of his tall are: he uses crutches to stand. He cannot go shopping as the normal people do . He cannot wear any thing he want. He needs a certain kind of car to ride. He has to bend down through doorways. The advantages of his tall: he can see people from far distance. He can help his family in changing the light bulbs and hang the curtains. Guinness organized Kosen’s trip to UK. This trip was designed to expose the release of 2010 Guinness World Records book. May be Kosen find his mate during this trip.
