The department of Motor vehicles said that they have given Google company, the first license to test self driven cars on the main roads and public streets and roads. This was achieved by Google after they successfully demonstrated their self driven cars on the Las Vegas air strip in order to show their car is public safe and will not cause any harms to the public. According to Google, their car is even safer than the human. The designers of the cars have designed them in a way, that they have created buffer zones around different obstacles that the car encounters. In this way the car is way more aware of surrounding obstacles as compared to the human driver; as claimed by the Google company.

The department of motor vehicle Nevada head, Bruce Breslow told that this auto-driven motor vehicle usually gets more honking as compared to other human driven cars mainly due to the fact that it is driving safer than humans. Google has recently modified a Prius in order to have zero intervention from a human operator. There are several radars attached to the car which helps detect nearby objects and vehicles. The virtual buffer zone which was designed by the programmer of the automated systems helps the car to avoid clashes with the nearby objects and cars. In this way the safety of the car is enhanced to a new level altogether.

Bruce Breslow also said that some people expect automated cars to drop them off at a particular place and them find a parking spot for themselves. This expectation is now not far from being satisfied as Google has already made a lot of progress in terms of its progress that has been made in automated driven cars. The car that has been modified by Google requires two people to sit in it at all times when its running. One of the person sits behind the steering while the second person continuously monitors the navigation screen which stated the route that the car will take and the different roads it will take in order to reach the destination. Moreover it also shows its horizontal distance from the nearby objects etc. If the car runs too close to some nearby object, the driver on the wheel can override the system and take over the control. Safety is the first concern of the designers. Test of the car has been carried out on quite and calm country roads which remained successful however experts believe that the test on the roads of the Las Vegas will decide the fate of the car as there one has to experience different moving objects from all direction on the walkways.

Google has applied for three different automated cars in order to test them however the department of motor vehicles hope to issue them red number plates and a sticker to let other people know that this car is a vehicle of the future. When these cars will be ready for the market which the department of motor and vehicles hope to come in the next three to five years, these cars will be given green number plates to distinguish them from the rest.

Nick Sandy, a visionary and an ambitious person has spent around a million pounds in order to convert his relatively older house from 1960′s into a eco-friendly home.

Nick, 59, had to spend almost a year and a half in order to convert the tradition house into a futuristic wonder. The eco features include sensors which turn the lights on when someone enters a room, and automatically turns them off in order to conserve energy.

There are also many air pumps installed at strategic places in order to pump in fresh air in the house, which refill fresh air inside ; after every two hours. When Nick purchased the house, his utility bills were about  £3500 per annum. After the conversion into a green, eco friendly house, the bills have come down to a mere £1000. This conversion has helped Nick in making both ends meet in a much better manner.

With the help of these conversions, nick is able to save a lot of money. This saving would definitely surpass the cost incurred to convert in an eco friendly place. The solar panels which are installed in this house cost nick about £10,000, which not only generates electricity but also helps in managing the water supply to the house.

 Motion sensors are also installed in the house in order to make it more energy efficient. When the temperature goes up a certain level, the fresh air pumps pump in fresh air  and the windows open automatically.

The rain water which the garden receives is reused as the garden is installed with insulation. This water is then sent off to the toilets and for washing purposes. Mr. Nick’s place has been fortunate enough to catch the attention of different environmentalists and government officials in order to access the eco friendly house.

Department of Energy and Climate Change officials say that the main reason of the visit to Nick’s house is to access how well the conversion has been done, and how efficient is the system running. Nick who owns a house developing company, ST8, has now offered his wonder home for sale at a staggering price of £2.5 million.

These gigantic structures are a part of a project which includes stretching artificial woodland in order to make it as one of the latest offerings to the incoming tourists. As the launch date of these huge structures is just around the corner, the structure planners have added two permanent additions to these skyscraper trees.

Now the tourists and visitors will be able to have a panoramic view of not only the gardens itself but also the city from the aerial bridge that connects the trees several meters above ground level.

This bridge will be about seven stories above the ground and will help connect the two super trees which are higher than the rest in the woodland. The height of the towering super trees stand at about 42 meters. The second attraction which the builders plan is the light and sound show on the day of the launch.

The due date for the program at present is July 2nd. This program will include multimedia effects and quality sound, which the organizers and planners of the woodland hope to run every night in order to attract a far greater number of tourists to the city. As far as the structure of these trees are concerned, the trunk is replaced by concrete weighing several hundred tones. Thick rods and wires suffice for the barks and branches.

Singapore government have planned and created these super trees as a part of a landmark project of creating a huge green wilderness in the crowded city. The government also plans to create a botanical garden at this place which resides in Marina South district. The canopy will weight several tones and will use a special hydraulic system specifically designed for this project. The builders of these mega structures hope to make them as close to reality as possible.

However environmentalists on the other hand are trying hard to get the permission to install solar panels in these structures in order to actually make this place as a go green project. Hanging gardens are also planned for these structures and they hope to add more awesomeness to the project.

The marina south gardens are one of the three projects initiated by the Bay Initiative. The Singapore government and leaders want to build a greener space for their citizens.

The research team at the Baylor college of medicine used seven birds which are known for their navigational abilities in a lab controlled magnetic field. As the magnetic fields changed, so did the parts of the brain which received the information. So basing their opinion from this fact, researchers were able to conclude that birds can actually store and build complex maps and paths within their brains.

The researchers placed the pigeons in dark room and clamped their heads into specific posture. Then the research team attached electrodes to the brain stems in order to see the effects. The team also used Tesla coils in order to cancel the effects of Earth’s magnetic field, which helped in disorienting the birds. Once that was successfully done, the clamped pigeons were introduced to new set of magnetic fields coming from different directions with different intensities. These new magnetic forces changed the compass and the tracking system inside the brain of the birds which tricked them into thinking as if they were being moved and transported somewhere.

The research the team was able to identify about fifty three neurons in the brain stems of the birds and pigeons which actually were responsible for the response of birds to the different fields. According to Dr. Dickman, some brain stems were more sensitive to the magnetic fields and the direction of the fields as compared to others in the bird’s head.

The team at the Baylor medical school also believe that birds and pigeons encode the information from these cells and ultimately use the encoded information in creating maps and paths for themselves. These maps are then stored inside the brain of the pigeons and birds which they use whenever they need them. The brain of the birds gives humans an opportunity to learn and see how it; the brain, develops receptors which receive spatial information and use it due to their such high ability and accuracy in regards to the navigation.

Recently a breakthrough has been made in the treatment of baldness and grey hair and the scientists are currently testing them on mice. Scientists have learned the use of stems cells and to create pigment follicles using these stem cells. With the help of these stem cells, hair were grown on bald mice when the cells were implanted in them.

This experiment had dual purpose. One was to grow hair and second was the pigmentation. The successful experiments on mice have enabled scientists to try and introduce this treatment in humans in under three years time. A decade from today, and we could see this stem cell approach as a widespread used technique in eradicating baldness in humans.

Scientists took two different samples of skin stem cells, which contained all the needed information about the hair follicles and grew them till the formation of immature follicles. These immature follicles were then planted in the bodies of bald mice and within afew weeks the results were clear. Mice developed hair in that particular region where follicles were planted.

This experiment has lead to the hope that in future these stem cells from the scalp of a man can be grown into healthy hair follicles. Thousands of these cells can then be grown to a premature stage in the lab, and then be injected back into the host body. A particular mix of stem cells could also help scientists choose the type of color for the hair. This technique can also be fruitful for those people whose hair have gone grey and they want a permanent solution to it rather than dying them every second week.

However this treatment to maintain your youthful look wouldn’t come with an easy buck. Stem cell treatment is expected to cost several thousand pounds. David Fenton who is a consultant dermatologist at St. Thomas Hospital, London said that the Japanese scientists might just have solved the puzzle which has been a cause of concern for humans since long. He said that if this treatment can be done elegantly, it would help patients of burns and scars to a great extent in reinventing their look altogether. However Dr Fenton was still very unclear as to how natural would these hair look in reality, how long would the treatment take and how long would it last and most importantly, how safe would it be for human population..

Three Brazilian people killed innocent people, and cooked their killings into pastries. Call it the reality version of Sweeney Todd. Karate expert Jorge and his 51 year old wife Pires along with their mistress Burna da Silva. The trio trapped women to come to their house, promising them the work of nanny.

The three sick people after getting successful in bringing someone home, killed the poor victim, and used their flesh in making pastries. These human flesh pastries which are called empanadas were then sold to their neighbors as stated according to the police.

These sick crimes emerged on the surface when officers were able to get their hands on the mistress Burna Da Silva’s book which was a guide to cannibalism and contained different details and drawing about the topic. After the emergence of the issue, police have successfully recovered the bodies of the two victims from the garden of their house. The bodies are believed to be of Alexandra Falcao and Gisele who recently were reported to have gone missing in the area. The last sighting of the two victims was near the house of these sick cannibals before they disappeared.

For many of the readers, these killings may seem bookish, straight out of a fiction story such as Sweeney Todd, who used to cut throats of victims in his shop. Sand sculptures have since long been a source of fascination for general public and a source of appreciation for the artist who makes them. Now that Olympics final 100 days countdown has begun, and the Olympic frenzy has taken over every sports lover, Japanese attractions have decided to pay homage and tribute by making sand sculptures. A team of fifteen artists from various ethnicities and geographical locations have created anything and everything related to London and Olympics. Leonardo Ugolini, an Italian artist has worked day and night to complete Big Ben sand sculpture and has also worked on the Palace of Westminster. These sculptures have been made using 3000 tons of sand. According to the Italian artist, this was the first time he was making an indoor sand sculpture. However the experience was extremely good as he didn’t had to worry about the varying weather.

Many of the artists who created the sand sculptures were of the view that they all hoped that people who visit England and especially London for the games enjoy these sculptures which have been created especially to entertain them.
